Applications accepted until July 11
Targeting non-profit corporations and organizations
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is openly recruiting operating organizations for the '2025 Consumer Damage Relief and Rights Protection Project' until July 11.
According to the province on the 21st, this project targets non-profit corporations and organizations related to consumers in the province, focusing on five key areas: strengthening consumer capabilities, consumer policy cooperation, and prompt and fair dispute resolution.
As consumer lifestyles become more sophisticated and new products rapidly enter the market, consumers are increasingly at risk of damage due to a lack of product information. In response, Jeonbuk Province has prepared various programs and support measures to prevent consumer damage and protect their rights and interests.
Since 2014, the province has operated the 'Consumer Leader Academy,' training 20 to 30 consumer experts annually. These experts provide customized consumer education to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and multicultural immigrant women.
Additionally, the province operates mobile counseling offices that tour cities and counties, increasing accessibility to consumer counseling centers at social welfare centers, traditional markets, and festival venues, and resolving disputes promptly on-site.
In particular, in special transaction sectors such as door-to-door sales, telemarketing, and online sales, the consumer monitoring team monitors about 20,000 locations annually to check for compliance with regulations.
Proposal projects to strengthen consumer damage relief activities, such as surveys on the advance disclosure system for veterinary clinic fees and roundtable meetings on price labeling in sports facilities, will also be promoted through an open call for proposals.
Suh Jaeyoung, Director of the Provincial Job and Livelihood Economy Division, said, "Through this consumer damage relief and rights protection project, we plan to actively support residents so they can enjoy a safe and trustworthy consumer life," and added, "We ask for the interest and participation of many non-profit corporations and organizations with expertise and capability."
