Gangjin County to Provide Monthly Housing Subsidies of 100,000 to 250,000 Won for Young Adults

Applications Open for the "Gangjinpumae" Youth Housing Support Program Until July 7
Expanded support: increased number of recipients, higher monthly assistance, and extended support period

Gangjin County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jinwon) is accepting applications for the "2025 Gangjinpumae Youth Housing Support Program" until the 7th of next month.


According to the county on the 21st, the program provides support for either jeonse loan interest or monthly rent to young people in vulnerable housing situations, aiming to promote housing and lifestyle stability for youth.

Eligible applicants are young people aged 19 to 45 who have resided in Gangjin County for more than three months, with a household income between 60% and 160% of the median income, and who live in a jeonse house (with a deposit of 100 million KRW or less) or a monthly rental house (with a rent of 600,000 KRW or less). Homeowners and those already receiving national or local government housing support are excluded. Selected applicants can receive up to 250,000 KRW per month in housing support.


Notably, starting this year, in response to requests for expanded housing support, the number of recipients will increase from 10 to 144, the maximum monthly support amount will increase from 100,000 KRW to 250,000 KRW, and the support period will be extended up to three years, thereby improving the effectiveness of the program.


Youth wishing to apply can check their eligibility on the Gangjin County website and submit the required documents to the Population Policy Division or the local town or township office.


Governor Kang Jinwon stated, "Despite the difficult financial situation, we are allocating pure county funds to support youth housing stability through the Gangjinpumae Youth Housing Support Program," adding, "We will do our best to help young people achieve their dreams and build a hopeful future in a more stable environment."


In addition, Gangjin County operates various asset-building and employment support programs, including marriage congratulatory funds for young couples, the Youth Didimdol Savings Account, job incentives, youth entrepreneurship support, youth entrepreneur rent support, and family business succession support.
