Improved Logistics Efficiency for Sellers and Enhanced Shopping Experience for Consumers
CJ Logistics announced on the 21st that it will actively support open market sellers using MaeilO-NE through its 'converged e-commerce (e)-fulfillment' service. It showcases differentiated competitiveness by providing not only large-scale and product-specific specialized fulfillment services but also simultaneously performing last-mile (parcel delivery) and fulfillment.
Fulfillment refers to a service where a logistics company manages the entire process for e-commerce sellers, from product receipt, storage, picking, inventory management, to shipment. Sellers can focus more on sales by entrusting logistics to specialized companies. There is also an effect of expanding sales through services such as extended order cut-off times and delivery guarantees.
CJ Logistics has established fulfillment centers specialized for each product category such as food, beauty, fashion, and pharmaceuticals. As of the end of last year, it owns a total of 12 fulfillment centers with a combined area of 351,814㎡ (106,424 pyeong), equivalent to the size of 55 international standard soccer fields.
A representative example is the 'Yongin B2C2 Smart Center.' This is the largest fulfillment center operated by CJ Logistics. It maximizes productivity by utilizing over 200 automated robots including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), and 3D sorters. It can manage temperatures ranging from room temperature to refrigerated and frozen conditions.
The 'Gonjiam B2C Center,' located at the Gonjiam Mega Hub Terminal, realizes fast delivery in addition to large-scale volume handling through hub-linked fulfillment. It has established an order-picking shipment line that picks products from multiple sellers simultaneously, maximizing the quality of mixed packaging services. The 'Gunpo B2C Smart Center' has introduced over 100 AGVs. Through mixed packaging and delivery guarantees, it provides fast bundled delivery to consumers and contributes to increasing sellers' sales volume.
Additionally, there is the 'Yongin B2C Cold Center,' which manages and ships fresh food in optimal condition through a cold chain system; the 'Icheon B2C2 Center,' which maximizes operational efficiency through automation technology and handles the entire process including returns and quality control of fashion products; and the 'Yeoju B2C Center,' equipped with a security system specialized for high-value items and capable of customized management for various product categories.
In addition to the characteristics of each center, CJ Logistics plans to maximize satisfaction for sellers and consumers through 'converged e-fulfillment.' Unlike many fulfillment companies where logistics centers and delivery operations are separated, it supports 'one-stop logistics' from storage to delivery. Products can be shipped directly from fulfillment centers to parcel terminals, enabling next-day delivery for orders placed by midnight and even same-day delivery depending on the region.
Do Hyung-jun, Head of Sales at CJ Logistics, said, "E-fulfillment contributes to maximizing consumer shopping satisfaction through fast and accurate delivery and extended order cut-off times. We will also do our best to strengthen our clients' business competitiveness by providing customized logistics services and through MaeilO-NE."
