Dobong-gu Carefully Supports Vulnerable Groups, Traditional Markets, and Medical Services Before and After Lunar New Year Holiday

Dobong-gu Implements Comprehensive 2025 Lunar New Year Plan

Dobong-gu Carefully Supports Vulnerable Groups, Traditional Markets, and Medical Services Before and After Lunar New Year Holiday

Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will implement a comprehensive Lunar New Year plan from January 24 to February 3. During this period, the district plans to do its best to minimize inconveniences closely related to residents' daily lives by promoting relevant measures.

The comprehensive Lunar New Year plan consists of five major areas: ▲livelihood ▲traffic ▲safety ▲daily life ▲public service. The district will operate task forces by function centered on the comprehensive situation room and implement resident-centered measures by sector.

First, the comprehensive situation room will operate 24 hours a day from January 24 to 31, and functional task forces such as ▲snow removal task force ▲park and green space maintenance task force ▲traffic task force ▲cleaning situation team ▲medical task force ▲child protection duty team will be operated to respond promptly to various emergencies during the holiday period.

Support for vulnerable groups includes providing consolation money and goods to recipients of public assistance and low-income single-parent families, and offering special meals to marginalized groups through comprehensive social welfare centers. Various local institutions, such as Bangagol Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, will hold events for the elderly, children, and youth during the holiday.

Measures to attract many visitors to traditional markets before and after the holiday are also prepared and implemented. A price stabilization situation room will be operated to manage the prices of Lunar New Year seasonal goods, enabling consumers to purchase products at affordable and reasonable prices. For convenience, temporary parking around traditional markets (Banghak-dong Dokkaebi Market, Chang-dong Sinchang Market, Chang-dong Alley Market) will be allowed from January 16 to 30.

Administrative gaps that may occur during the Lunar New Year holiday will also be minimized. A cleaning situation room will operate from January 27 to 30, the period when garbage collection is suspended. During this time, environmental officials will work special shifts in place of cleaning contractors to handle garbage and complaints arising during the holiday. Extensive garbage collection and cleaning will be conducted before and after the holiday.

For thorough medical measures, an emergency medical situation room will be established and operated at the public health center. The operation period is from January 28 to 30, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., during which the situation room will receive and respond to emergency medical incidents. In addition, emergency medical institutions and holiday duty pharmacies will be designated and operated. The emergency medical institution in Dobong-gu is Hanil Hospital (308 Uicheon-ro). Holiday duty pharmacies can be checked on the Dobong-gu website.

To provide prompt responses to traffic-related inquiries, a traffic countermeasure situation room will operate from January 27 to February 2. Before operation, traffic information will be provided using the Dobong-gu website and major bus stops. To facilitate smooth travel for homecoming and returning passengers, village bus last service times will be extended for two days from January 29 to 30.

Safety inspections of facilities such as construction sites will also be promoted. The main inspection targets include construction sites, gas facilities, road facilities, multi-use facilities, and parks and green spaces within the district. Food safety will also be secured by conducting guidance and inspections targeting livestock product sellers and food service establishments.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We will do our best to implement measures in each sector so that residents can spend the Lunar New Year holiday safely and comfortably.”
