Gwangju City Holds New Year Meeting... Discussing City Administration Development with Provincial Assembly Members

Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 20th that it held a New Year's meeting with provincial council members on the 17th to discuss the development of Gwangju city administration in the year 2025, the Year of Eulsa.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Bang Se-hwan, Gyeonggi Provincial Council members Yoo Young-doo, Lim Chang-hwi, Oh Chang-jun, Yoo Hyung-jin, Lee Ja-hyung, Kim Sun-young, as well as the heads of the Administrative Autonomy Bureau and the Planning and Finance Bureau of the city hall.


At the meeting, the policy directions and progress of key projects for the year 2025 were shared, and ways to strengthen communication and cooperation for the development of Gwangju city were discussed.

In particular, in-depth discussions were held on the successful hosting of the 2026-2027 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Festival.


At the end of last year, Gwangju City secured a total of 17.4 billion KRW in special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province for 22 projects, including 6 billion KRW for the construction of the comprehensive stadium for the Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Festival.


Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “These achievements are thanks to the strong support and cooperation of the provincial council members,” and added, “We ask for the continued interest and cooperation of the council members for the successful preparation and hosting of the Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Festival.”


In response, the provincial council members promised, “We will do our best to ensure that Gwangju City’s important projects are reflected as key issues in Gyeonggi Province,” pledging efforts to secure funding and provide multifaceted support.
