“Lunar New Year Holiday Emergency Medical System Stable” … Goseong-gun Provides Safe Medical Care for Residents

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will implement a citizen安心 medical service from January 22 to February 5 to minimize inconvenience to residents in preparation for the influx of patients to emergency rooms during the Lunar New Year holiday, a traditional national holiday.

According to the county on the 20th, the period has been designated as the Lunar New Year Emergency Response Week, and a public health center emergency medical response situation room will be established to fully activate emergency medical and emergency treatment systems.

The emergency treatment situation room will monitor emergency medical situations and emergency treatment by involving a total of 48 institutions in the emergency treatment system, including regional emergency medical institutions, emergency medical facilities, five public health institutions, 31 hospitals and clinics, and 17 pharmacies, aiming to minimize inconvenience when general patients use hospitals and clinics or purchase medicines.

Additionally, during the Lunar New Year holiday, 48 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies will participate and operate on designated dates to strengthen stable emergency medical care and emergency treatment. The Goseong-eup Health Branch will operate four health clinics, each providing medical services once during the holiday period, with the branch open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the Lunar New Year.

There are two 24-hour emergency room operating institutions in Goseong-gun: Kang Hospital and The Joeun Hospital. During the Lunar New Year Emergency Response Week, the county will designate a 1:1 dedicated officer responsible for monitoring emergency medical institutions (Kang Hospital) and immediately reporting any special issues to minimize disruptions in emergency medical treatment on site.

The county public health center has formed a rapid response team during the holiday to quickly respond to situations through a communication network linked with the provincial and regional emergency information center situation rooms in case of mass patient occurrences. If necessary, support will be provided for hospital selection and inter-hospital transfer coordination for severe emergency patients, and the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) from the disaster base hospital will be dispatched to set up on-site emergency medical facilities, preparing for on-site emergency medical support.

Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be obtained through 129 (Health and Welfare Call Center), 119 (Emergency Situation Management Center), and 120 (Provincial Call Center), as well as through the Emergency Medical Portal and emergency medical information apps. The Goseong-gun Band (SNS) and the Goseong-gun Office website also provide information on medical institutions and pharmacies open during the holiday within the county.
