Lee Pilhyung Meets Residents in 14 Neighborhoods Over 8 Days
Actively Incorporates Residents' Suggestions to Enhance Policy Effectiveness

Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) successfully concluded the ‘2025 Resident Communication Meetings,’ which were held by visiting two neighborhoods per day from Cheongnyangni-dong on the 8th to Jangan 2-dong on the 16th.

This communication meeting was an opportunity to listen to the vivid voices of residents and reflect them in district administration, held across a total of 14 neighborhoods.

On the morning of the last day of the communication meetings, the Jeonnong 2-dong Community Center was bustling with many residents including school principals, senior citizens’ association presidents, heads of professional organizations, and parents. District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung emphasized the importance of resident communication in his greeting, saying, “The participation of residents leads the changes in Dongdaemun-gu.” He then announced plans to plant azaleas and establish a caf? to make Baebongsan a more popular healing space for residents, which received great applause.

The meeting began with reports on district administration and neighborhood status, followed by a discussion with residents. Residents presented various opinions closely related to daily life, such as ▲maintenance of school commuting routes ▲support for senior citizens’ center supplies ▲management of the barefoot clay trail on Baebongsan.

Mayor Lee Pil-hyung listened attentively to the residents’ voices and responded sincerely to each question, stating, “We will fully reflect the residents’ desire for change to develop Dongdaemun-gu.” He also instructed the directors and department heads present on site to immediately review the residents’ suggestions and take prompt action.

The residents’ opinions proposed during this communication meeting will be used as important data for future district administration directions. The district plans to forward the received suggestions to the relevant departments and transparently share the progress and results with the residents.
