Joint Inspection Team Formed with Public Officials, Price Surveyors, and Honorary Origin Labeling Monitors
Monitoring for Overcharging, Hoarding, and Origin Labeling Status... Fire Safety Inspections Also Conducted
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will begin managing price stability for daily necessities and holiday seasonal products from January 20 to 31 in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
During this period, safety inspections will also be conducted targeting traditional markets and shopping districts.
To this end, a joint public-private inspection team has been formed, consisting of district office officials, price surveyors, and honorary origin labeling monitors.
Through the joint inspection team, the district plans to monitor price trends at 15 locations, including six traditional markets and medium to large-sized marts within the area.
If unfair trade practices such as overcharging or hoarding, or violations of price labeling regulations are discovered, immediate action will be taken in accordance with relevant laws.
Additionally, the origin labeling status of agricultural and marine products will be intensively inspected at six traditional markets and two small to medium-sized marts.
Safety inspections will also be conducted targeting traditional markets and shopping districts where there is a risk of large-scale casualties and property damage in case of fire.
The main inspection items include ▲checking that unused heating appliance cords are disconnected in each store ▲confirming the removal of flammable materials around stores ▲organizing items around fire safety facilities and ensuring fire truck access routes.
Along with inspections, on-site guidance for preventing safety accidents will be provided. Winter fire prevention promotional materials will be distributed to merchants to ensure compliance, and self-inspection checklists will be given to each store to encourage merchants to manage their premises carefully on their own.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “We will strive to stabilize prices so that the local market can maintain stable price formation,” and added, “As this is a period with increased fire risk, we ask all residents and merchants to pay special attention to fire prevention.”
