Located away from the city center and embracing the clear and pristine Unmun Lake, Cheongdo Baseball Park opened on November 1, 2018. It features a total of three fields: one main stadium and two auxiliary fields, along with six lighting towers, a scoring room, dugouts, 80 spectator seats, shower facilities, and surrounding amenities such as an observatory, central plaza, and park.

The main stadium is fully equipped with artificial turf, enabling it to host international games. The distances to the left and right fences are 97 meters, and the center fence is 116 meters. On the left side of the stadium, there is an electronic scoreboard that allows spectators to easily follow the game records.

Additionally, six lighting towers are installed to facilitate night games, and safety mat fences are in place to protect players.

Situated in the scenic area around Unmun Lake, known for its beautiful natural landscapes, the park boasts stunning views throughout the seasons, establishing itself as a dream stadium for baseball clubs nationwide.

Moreover, adjacent to Cheongdo Baseball Park is the Hwarang Village within Cheongdo Sinhwarang Pungnyu Village, where lodging is available, making it a popular training site for amateur baseball clubs and baseball teams from across the country.

This winter training camp for middle school baseball teams is expected to not only revitalize the local economy but also serve as an opportunity to promote Cheongdo’s excellent sports facilities and beautiful tourist resources.

The participating schools are Maesong Middle School and Jungang Middle School, both located in Gyeonggi Province. A total of about 60 students will stay in Cheongdo from the 9th to the 27th, completing an 18-day training schedule.

Hwang Yoon-seong, coach of Ansan Jungang Middle School, said, “Cheongdo Baseball Park has baseball-friendly infrastructure and facilities, and with lodging nearby, I think it is the optimal place for training camps. If given the chance, I hope to train in Cheongdo again next year and the year after.”

Kim Ha-su, the mayor of Cheongdo-gun, stated, “We will spare no effort in providing active attention and administrative support so that the teams visiting Cheongdo during the winter training period can focus on their training without inconvenience.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to ensure that Cheongdo Baseball Park becomes the nation’s top training site and that Cheongdo establishes itself as the premier baseball city nationwide through aggressive stay-type sports marketing and infrastructure development linking sports and tourism.”

Cheongdo Baseball Park hosts the annual Cheongdo Sinhwarang Cup National Amateur Baseball Tournament, attracting many amateur baseball players to Cheongdo every year.
