Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk is focusing its available resources to ensure a safe and warm 'Perfect Seollal' for everyone during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

The city will operate a comprehensive situation room for six days from the 25th to the 30th, and through a response system composed of 11 teams and 174 personnel, including disaster management, medical response, water supply, and traffic control teams, it plans to promptly address citizen inconveniences and unexpected situations.

In particular, to prevent fire accidents, pre-safety inspections will be conducted at eight locations such as traditional markets, large stores, and multi-use facilities. To minimize medical service gaps, emergency medical institutions, clinics, and pharmacies that remain open will be designated to maintain a 24-hour emergency medical care system.

Additionally, activities to prevent wage arrears for workers and focused monitoring of 20 essential items for price stabilization will be carried out. Efforts will also be made to revitalize traditional markets through Seollal shopping events. Furthermore, the local agricultural specialty product shopping mall, ‘Gyeongsan Mall,’ will sell about 600 items at discounts of up to 30%.

Support for vulnerable groups will also be emphasized. Assistance for the homeless, elderly living alone, and children at risk of food insecurity will be strengthened, and through the spread of a sharing culture, welfare blind spots will be addressed so that all citizens can spend a warm holiday.

Mayor Cho Hyun-il of Gyeongsan said, “We will do our best to implement a thorough comprehensive plan so that citizens and returning visitors can have a safe and warm holiday,” and added, “I hope everyone shares warm affection and has a happy Seollal holiday.”
