Gyeonggi-do to Establish Budget, Accounting, and HR Systems for Public Institutions... Operation Starting September

Gyeonggi Province is establishing a ‘Public Institution ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System’ to comprehensively manage administrative tasks such as budgeting, accounting, and personnel for public institutions within the province.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that it was selected as a target for the ‘2024 Cloud Native Transition Project’ led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving 4 billion KRW in project funding. The service will be initially opened in September for public institution budget officers and plans to be expanded to all users starting next year.

ERP is a system that integrally manages organizational activities such as budgeting, accounting, and personnel. Gyeonggi Province built the ‘Public Institution ERP System’ in 2013 to enhance administrative efficiency and transparency in budgeting and accounting. With this new development, it is expected to improve the quality of public services by introducing new technologies.

In August last year, Gyeonggi Province held a meeting with 28 public institutions to discuss the direction of the ‘Public Institution ERP System’ project. The system complies with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s local public enterprise budget formulation standards and reflects the characteristics of each institution, such as the three-shift work pattern of nursing staff at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.

Additionally, by adopting an automated development process, operation and task processing times have been reduced. The system allows stable infrastructure expansion and program changes without affecting other tasks during peak periods like year-end tax adjustments or when system modifications occur.

Internationally, companies such as Uber and Netflix use this technology, and domestically, cloud native technology is being applied mainly in finance and distribution sectors.

Park Won-yeol, Director of the AI Future Administration Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "By improving the ERP system, we expect to enhance transparency in administrative tasks and increase trust in public institutions. Through flexible system responses based on cloud native technology, we will provide stable and innovative administrative services."
