Jeollanam-do announced that it will launch the "Seonseon Payment Campaign" in the first half of this year to support small business owners experiencing severe management difficulties.

The "Seonseon Payment Campaign" aims to revitalize the local economy by having various entities, including Jeollanam-do, city and county governments, public institutions, private companies, and financial institutions, participate in advance payment methods to support sales at local stores. It is drawing attention because it is being carried out without any additional local government budget allocation.

In the third quarter of last year, the average sales of small business owners in Jeollanam-do decreased by 2.7% compared to the same period the previous year, and by 4.2% compared to the previous quarter.

Jeollanam-do and local city and county governments plan to use business promotion and general operating expenses within their budgets to make advance payments at local stores, injecting vitality into the stagnant local commercial districts.

In addition, Jeollanam-do will closely cooperate with more than 100 affiliated public institutions and 16 relocated public institutions in Naju Innovation City, and encourage participation in the campaign from financial institutions such as the Jeonnam branch of Nonghyup and Gwangju Bank, as well as large and small companies in the province.

Kim Yungrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "This Seonseon Payment Campaign is not just about advance payments, but will be a starting point for reviving the local economy and spreading a culture of mutual growth," adding, "We will unite residents, public institutions, and the private sector to support small business owners in need."
