'Korean with the Highest IQ in History' Supports German Far-Right Party and Asks Musk for "Help"

Local Media Question
"Insufficient Evidence for Kim's IQ of 276"

Kim Young-hoon, a Korean man selected as the person with the highest IQ in history with an IQ of 276, declared his support for Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, following Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.

AfD promoted Kim extensively, claiming that the world's highest IQ holder supports them, but quietly removed posts about Kim after facing local suspicions of 'IQ manipulation.' In response, Kim appealed that his IQ of 276 had been verified and requested support from Musk as well. AfD is a far-right German party known for controversial statements defending Nazis.

The name of Korean Kim Young-hoon (36) suddenly started circulating in German politics about a month before the general election, beginning on the 15th (local time). AfD began posting photoshopped images of Kim wearing an AfD T-shirt and giving two thumbs up, along with his AfD-supporting posts on X (formerly Twitter). Introducing himself as 'IQ MAN,' Kim wrote, "As the current holder of the world's highest IQ record, I support AfD, just as Elon Musk said, 'Only AfD can save Germany.'"

Last month on the 20th, Musk posted on social media platform X, "Only AfD can save Germany." At the same time, he has been fueling criticism against current German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, calling him an "incompetent idiot."

German media pointed out the lack of credible evidence to believe Kim's IQ is 276 and noted that Kim's recently created X account mainly contains posts praising Musk. As local suspicion about Kim grew, AfD stopped using Kim's IQ for promotional purposes.

In response to ongoing allegations, Kim posted his resident registration card, passport, and certificates from various institutions on X to refute the claims. He also tagged Elon Musk, asking for help. Through an X live broadcast, he repeatedly denied the suspicions, stating, "I realized it is impossible to prove everything to those who refuse to believe. I will minimize my activity on X for the time being and focus on essential verification."

Kim first gained recognition in 2015 when he appeared on SBS's 'Genius Discovery Team.' At that time, ranked third in the world for IQ, he demonstrated his genius by memorizing two randomly shuffled decks of poker cards (104 cards) in about 10 minutes. The World Mind Sports Council, a global brain championship founded by Tony Buzan, the creator of mind maps, officially announced last year that "Kim Young-hoon was ranked number one worldwide with an IQ of 276 by the American magazine 'Reader's Digest.'" In November 2023, he was officially certified as the holder of the highest IQ record through the Korea Records Institute. He is also listed as the number one IQ holder worldwide in the World Genius Directory and the GIGA Society.
