The Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun, Busan (Eupjang Jo Woo-jin) began operating this year’s ‘Sunshine Health Counseling Center’ from the 15th.
The ‘Sunshine Health Counseling Center’ is a project that provides one-on-one customized health management services to civil petitioners. It has received great response from residents, conducting over 110 health consultations last year.
The ‘Sunshine Health Counseling Center’ operates every third Wednesday of the month from 2 PM to 5 PM. Nursing public officials directly measure residents’ blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, conduct dementia screening tests and depression tests, and connect high-risk individuals to specialized institutions when detected. In addition, it supports residents’ continuous health management by providing customized health counseling and educational materials.
An elderly resident who used the health counseling center said, “I am very satisfied that I can check my health and receive counseling at a nearby administrative welfare center.”
Jo Woo-jin, Eupjang of Ilgwang-eup, said, “Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as hypertension and diabetes can be sufficiently prevented from worsening into severe diseases through early detection and management,” and added, “We will continue to operate the health counseling center to maintain the healthy lives of residents.”
