Cube Entertainment announced on the 17th that the group (G)I-DLE created a sensation not only in Korea but also in China last year.
According to the ‘TME 2024 YEAR-END CHART’ released recently by Tencent Music, China’s largest music platform, (G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua) achieved remarkable results with their 2nd full album '2' (Two), their 7th mini album 'I SWAY', and member Yuqi’s first mini album 'YUQ1'.
(G)I-DLE’s 7th mini album 'I SWAY' demonstrated strong power by ranking 1st in Tencent Music’s K-pop chart for the EP of the year 2024. Additionally, the title track of this album, 'Klaxon', topped the Tencent Music K-pop chart for four consecutive weeks last year.
Not stopping there, the track 'Fate' from the 2nd full album '2' was listed on the Tencent Music K-pop chart for a total of 37 weeks last year, making it the longest-charting song on the chart.
Member Yuqi’s solo activities in China last year were also impressive. Her first mini album 'YUQ1' ranked 2nd for Album of the Year, and the title track 'FREAK' was selected as the 8th Song of the Year, proving her local popularity.
Previously, (G)I-DLE’s song 'Fate' ranked 1st and 2nd on the annual charts of domestic music streaming platforms Genie Music and Melon, respectively, confirming their strong digital music power. With popularity shown in both the Korean and Chinese music markets, expectations are high for (G)I-DLE’s activities in 2025.
