China has decided to impose anti-dumping duties on polyoxymethylene (POM) products imported from the United States, the European Union (EU), Taiwan, and Japan.
On the 16th, the Ministry of Commerce of China announced in a preliminary ruling posted on its website that its domestic industry had suffered damage due to dumping.
The anti-dumping duty rates to be applied from the 24th are 74.9% for US companies, 42% for EU companies, 3.8?32.6% for Taiwanese companies, and 33.9?43.7% for Japanese companies.
Polyoxymethylene is a copolymer with high mechanical strength and fatigue resistance, which can partially replace metal materials such as copper, zinc, tin, and lead. It is used directly or after modification in automobile parts, electronic and electrical products, industrial machinery, daily necessities, sports equipment, medical devices, piping fittings, and building materials.
Previously, since 2017, China has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 6.2% to 34.9% on polyoxymethylene products imported from Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia, and in October last year, it decided to extend these tariff measures until October 2028.
