National Pukyong University and Busan Office of Education Collaborate to Lead Regional Educational Innovation and Promote Glocal University Initiative

Building a Future-Oriented Educational Model for Busan

National Pukyong University (President Bae Sang-hoon) and Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) held a meeting on the 15th at the Dongwon Jangbo Hall of National Pukyong University's Daeyeon Campus to discuss collaborative projects for the promotion of the Glocal University 30 initiative for the 2025 academic year.

The two institutions have strengthened their cooperation to advance education development in the Busan region and establish a sustainable educational ecosystem, officially launching efforts to promote the Glocal University 30 project.

On this day, Lee Min-hee, Vice President for Academic Affairs of National Pukyong University, and other officials from the Glocal Project Headquarters, along with Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong and representatives from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, attended to discuss cooperation strategies and policy directions for regional educational innovation.

The two institutions proposed and discussed various educational policies aimed at strengthening ties with the Busan Education Development Special Zone, addressing the outflow of local talent, providing high-quality educational opportunities to regional students, and building a future-oriented educational model for Busan linked to the Glocal University 30 project.

To this end, prior to this year's Glocal University 30 project competition, the two institutions plan to sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance educational cooperation, offer customized programs and innovative educational content to students, and cultivate talent necessary for regional development.

National Pukyong University intends to actively utilize its excellent human resources and advanced educational infrastructure to provide a high-quality learning environment for local students, maximizing their potential and contributing to strengthening Busan's future competitiveness.

Lee Min-hee, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Head of the Glocal Project Headquarters at National Pukyong University, stated, “Based on the collaborative tasks discussed at this meeting, we will establish concrete implementation plans and lay the foundation for sustainable development where the local community and students can grow together.”
