Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that the Nasanmyeon Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force recently held a meeting to discuss ways to strengthen local welfare.
The meeting, held in Nasanmyeon on the 14th, was attended by 15 members of the Welfare Task Force. During the meeting, they shared last year's achievements and exchanged opinions on the operation plan for the task force this year.
The Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force is a public-private partnership welfare network that identifies neighbors in need and provides various support services, including improving residential inconveniences, offering living stabilization funds, and discovering households at risk that fall through the welfare safety net.
Last year, the Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force provided 'life-oriented' welfare services such as safety inspections of old houses, electrical and plumbing system checks, and replacement of wallpaper, flooring, and windows. In total, they supported residential environment improvement services worth 36 million won for 43 vulnerable households.
Additionally, the task force decided to use the 1 million won prize money awarded at the 'Hampyeong County Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force Achievement Sharing Event' to fund residential environment improvement projects for low-income vulnerable households.
Kim Panho, the head of the task force, said, "I feel a great sense of fulfillment when I see vulnerable residents regain their smiles thanks to the task force's help," and added, "We will continue to do our best to revitalize the task force so that we can provide practical assistance to neighbors in need."
Jung Seok, the head of Nasanmyeon, expressed his gratitude by saying, "I deeply appreciate the Welfare Task Force members who always work hard for the local community," and added, "We will further strengthen the public-private cooperation system so that residents can enjoy a safe and healthy living environment."
