Gong-su-cheo stated that it made this decision after accepting a request from President Yoon's side to postpone the investigation scheduled for the morning due to health reasons.
President Yoon was arrested at 10:33 a.m. the previous day on charges of leading a rebellion and was immediately transferred to Gong-su-cheo, where he was investigated for about 10 hours and 40 minutes from 11 a.m. until around 9:40 p.m.
After the investigation, President Yoon was escorted to the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi Province, where he spent the night. It is known that President Yoon exercised his right to remain silent during the investigation the previous day. It is highly likely that he will refuse to testify during the reinvestigation as well.
Gong-su-cheo is expected to decide whether to request an arrest warrant for President Yoon as early as the same day. A suspect who has been arrested must have an arrest warrant requested and issued within 48 hours to continue to be detained.
