The Naebalsan Complex Welfare Center, located in Ujangsan-dong (24-5 Ujangsan-ro), has a total floor area of 1,372㎡, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, featuring various multifunctional spaces such as a senior citizens’ center, program rooms, a Kiwoom Center, and community spaces for residents.
The Ujangsan area, where the center is located, has six elementary schools nearby and is densely populated with large apartment complexes and multi-family houses, resulting in high demand for care and welfare services. The Kiwoom Center within the Naebalsan Complex Welfare Center will begin operations on the 20th, and programs for seniors and residents will be piloted from mid-February with 18 courses targeting 414 participants. Enrollment can be done by visiting the Naebalsan Complex Welfare Center or by phone.
The center was constructed by rebuilding the Naebalsan Senior Citizens’ Center building, which was originally built in 1997. The district established the complex welfare center to meet the increasing welfare needs of the growing elderly population, dual-income couples, and other residents.
The complex welfare center, which brings together welfare facilities for residents in one place, includes a multipurpose room in the basement for performances and events, a community space and caf? for residents on the first floor, and the office of the Gangseo-gu branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association. The second floor is dedicated to seniors, featuring a senior citizens’ center, program rooms, and a computer room. The district plans to offer various programs to promote healthy and active aging, including hobbies, leisure activities, and digital literacy education for self-development.
The third floor houses the ‘Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center (Gangseo Branch No. 9),’ an after-school care facility for dual-income families. This Kiwoom Center provides a space where children can freely play and study, with care teachers on site offering academic guidance and snacks, significantly helping to fill the after-school care gap for dual-income families.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “The Naebalsan Complex Welfare Center is an open space for not only seniors but all local residents,” adding, “We hope it becomes a valuable place where seniors can enjoy happy leisure time, residents can communicate, and share their lives with one another.”
