50-Year-Old Dies After Getting Trapped in Robot Arm at Jinju Auto Parts Factory

A man in his 50s working at an auto parts manufacturing factory in Jinju, Gyeongnam, died while on the job.

According to the Jinju Police Station on the 15th, around 5:54 p.m. the previous day, Mr. A, in his 50s, who was inspecting a workbench at an auto parts manufacturing factory in Sangpyeong-dong, Jinju, became trapped by a robotic arm used for transporting materials.

Mr. A was transported to a hospital by 119 emergency responders dispatched after a report from factory personnel, but he ultimately passed away while receiving treatment.

The company is known to be a small-scale business with fewer than five employees.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning factory personnel and others involved.
