Seo-gu, Gwangju City will implement the ‘Comprehensive Measures for Residents’ Life Stability’ starting from the 25th.
According to Seo-gu on the 15th, this comprehensive plan was prepared to support residents and visitors returning to their hometowns during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday to have a safe and comfortable holiday.
Seo-gu has established and will implement a total of 29 measures closely related to residents’ lives until the 30th, including ▲ infectious disease prevention and emergency medical system operation ▲ disaster (heavy snow, cold wave) preparedness inspections ▲ safety management of seasonal food products ▲ price control and fuel supply ▲ environmental maintenance ▲ illegal parking guidance and enforcement ▲ support for marginalized groups ▲ operation of the 365,000 won volunteer office, among others.
In particular, during the holiday period, a comprehensive situation room will be operated, and rapid response systems will be established through situation task forces in each field such as cleaning, disaster and accident, medical care, and civil complaint handling.
Specifically, Seo-gu will focus on identifying and supporting crisis households in welfare blind spots before and after the holiday, and ensure residents’ life stability through measures such as heating cost support for senior centers, meal support for low-income children, and safety inspections of elderly welfare facilities and welfare centers.
Additionally, major urban areas and cleaning-vulnerable areas will undergo thorough cleaning before and after the holiday, and special cleaning measures such as special duty for sanitation workers and expanded operation of street cleaning vehicles will be implemented during the holiday.
For residents urgently needing certificates, 21 unmanned civil service issuance machines and the 365 Civil Service Volunteer Office on the 1st floor of Lotte Mart Max in the Sangmu district will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the holiday period.
Kim Ikang, the district mayor, said, “We will do our best on the ground to ensure everyone has a safe and warm holiday,” and added, “We will focus administrative efforts so that residents and visitors can spend the Lunar New Year holiday peacefully without worries.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, Seo-gu has been conducting safety inspections of multi-use facilities and district-wide cleaning by neighborhood since the 14th, implementing preemptive measures for a safe and pleasant holiday.
