Professor Hwang Wook-yeon’s Research Team at Dong-A University Department of Global Business, Consecutively Publishing Papers in Prestigious Academic Journals

Development of a Statistical Process Control Technique for Time Series Data Based on Adversarial Neural Networks

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 15th that Professor Hwang Wook-yeon’s team from the Department of Global Business recently published papers consecutively in the academic journals ‘Information Sciences’ and ‘Knowledge-Based Systems.’

Professor Hwang Wook-yeon published a paper as the sole author in the representative journal of computer science and information systems, ‘Information Sciences (JCR top 6.57%, Impact factor 8.1).’

This paper developed a new collaborative filtering recommendation system for high-dimensional binary market basket data based on conditional probability.

Professor Hwang also published a paper as the corresponding author in the leading journal in computer science and artificial intelligence, ‘Knowledge-Based Systems (JCR top 13.5%, Impact factor 7.2).’

This paper developed a new statistical process control technique for time series data based on adversarial neural networks.

This research was conducted jointly with graduate Yoo-jeong Cheon (first author). Currently, graduate Yoo-jeong Cheon is working as a data scientist at EY Consulting.

Since joining Dong-A University in 2016, Professor Hwang has nurtured students and published eight SCI-level papers as the sole author, and has registered and applied for six domestic patents.

Professor Hwang said, “I will continue to strive to produce useful research outcomes and to bring honor to Dong-A University through technology transfer of patented technologies.”
