Dong-A University Actively Advances 'Graduate School Internationalization Program' through BK21 Graduate School Innovation Project

Agreement Signed with Huazhong Agricultural University and Hubei University of Technology Graduate Schools
Exchange Student and Joint Research Programs to Be Promoted

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) is actively promoting the 'Graduate School Internationalization Program' through the BK21 Graduate School Innovation Project, and recently, a training delegation composed of professors and graduate students visited China, the university announced on the 15th.


Recently, Dong-A University graduate school officials, including Yang Soo-cheol (Vice Dean of Graduate School) from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Jin Byung-rae from the Department of Applied Biological Engineering, visited regional universities in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, along with 17 graduate students.


This visit, aimed at enhancing graduate students' international awareness and strengthening international joint research networks, included graduate students from various departments such as ICT Convergence Marine Smart City Engineering, Education, Physical Education, Clothing and Textiles, Applied Life Sciences, Management Information Systems, Food Life Engineering, Formative Design, Chemical Engineering, Disaster Management, Data Science Convergence, Translational Medicine, Korean Language and Literature, and Tourism Management.


In particular, through this visit to China, Dong-A University achieved the signing of agreements with the graduate schools of Huazhong Agricultural University and Hubei University of Technology. Going forward, programs such as exchange students, international joint research, and joint supervision will be promoted with these graduate schools.


The delegation visited the graduate school laboratories and research institutes of Huazhong Agricultural University, Hubei University of Technology, and Wuhan University to explore the research environment and achievements of Chinese universities.


They also visited the 'Wuhan Optoelectronics Industry Technology Research Institute,' which is promoting the localization of core semiconductor technologies in China, and 'HGTECH,' China’s first listed laser company, providing an opportunity to directly observe exemplary cases where university research outcomes promote national industrial development.


Graduate students participating in this program said, "Seeing excellent research achievements in a large-scale research environment gave us a lot of insight. Since Huazhong Agricultural University has had exchanges with Dong-A University for over 20 years, we were grateful for their warm welcome of our delegation." They added, "Interacting with passionate and friendly Chinese graduate students gave us a new perspective on China. This valuable experience during our graduate school life has been a great motivation for our future research activities."


Dong-A University was selected in the 4th phase of the Brain Korea (BK) 21 project in the 'Graduate School Innovation' category and is working on graduate school innovation and structural reform by activating the graduate school internationalization program and strengthening research capabilities.
