Kim Dong-geun, the mayor of Uijeongbu, took the Uijeongbu Light Rail Transit himself on the morning of the 14th during his commute to work, spending time communicating with citizens.

This move was made to consider the city's transportation issues, listen to citizens' opinions, and reflect them in policies.

At around 8:20 a.m. that day, Mayor Kim boarded the light rail at Songsan Station and traveled to Hoeryong Station, inspecting vehicle congestion and station facilities. During the ride, he freely conversed with citizens on board, gathering various opinions on transportation issues and city administration.

Mayor Kim said, “Based on the opinions obtained through direct communication with citizens on site, we will continuously improve Uijeongbu's transportation policies,” adding, “We will continue to create various opportunities for communication so that citizens can feel tangible changes.”

Mayor Kim plans to consistently provide open forums for dialogue with citizens to show a more developed Uijeongbu City to its residents.
