Yangsan City Mayor Na Dong-yeon Successfully Concludes 'Meeting with Citizens'

Mayor Na Dong-yeon of Yangsan City successfully concluded the schedule of the 'Meetings with Citizens' held in eup, myeon, and dong districts, which he promoted to create opportunities for direct communication with citizens.

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam Province held meetings from the 7th to the 15th, starting in Mulgeum-eup and ending in Samsung-dong, visiting eup, myeon, and dong districts to promote a communicative and fair administration. During the meetings, local provincial and city council members also attended to listen to various citizen complaints.

This series of meetings broke away from traditional methods to approach citizens more closely and conduct discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. Each meeting became a forum for dialogue with lively questions and answers. Various suggestions that could not be addressed during the meetings will be separately received in writing for review and processing.

Additionally, the meetings were conducted in a direct Q&A format on-site, allowing Mayor Na to face citizens directly and actively respond to local issues and complaints, working together with citizens to find ways to reflect these in city administration.

In particular, Mayor Na Dong-yeon presented clear solutions to major complaints in each eup, myeon, and dong district, earning much empathy and applause from citizens throughout the sessions.

The various suggestions raised during the meetings with citizens will be categorized by field and promptly followed up. Citizens showed great interest in education issues, economic revitalization, senior welfare, and improvements in transportation conditions and environmental problems.

Key suggestions included exploring utilization plans for the Tongdo Fantasia site, installation of funeral facilities (crematorium), construction of forest roads for access to the sunrise event venue in the Ungsang area, resolution of issues at Ungsang Central Hospital, improvements in senior welfare, addition of bus routes between eastern and western Yangsan, expansion of the bathhouse at Wondong Cultural and Sports Center, solving youth outflow due to the absence of Gyodong Elementary School, expanded opening of the Beopgi Reservoir trail, request for pedestrian paths on Geumo Bridge, and resolution of additional charges for housing cooperative members in the Seoksan area, among various other fields.

Mayor Na stated, “Among the complaints submitted, those that can be addressed will be reflected in the supplementary budget and handled as quickly as possible to actively resolve residents’ inconveniences.” He added, “Regarding the suggestions made at this meeting, the responsible departments will directly respond to the proposers about the feasibility and implementation plans, and will continuously share progress to alleviate citizens’ inconveniences and enhance administrative trust.”
