Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who has been suspended from duty due to impeachment, will appear as an institutional witness on the 15th before the National Assembly's Special Committee on the "Investigation into the Alleged Rebellion Charges through the Declaration of Martial Law by the Yoon Seok-yeol Administration."


A government official stated that Prime Minister Han has decided to appear in person at the National Assembly on that day.


Previously, the special committee selected 92 individuals as witnesses, including Prime Minister Han.


In addition to Prime Minister Han, senior presidential office officials at the level of Chief Presidential Secretary or higher, such as Jeong Jin-seok, Chief of the Presidential Secretariat, and Shin Won-sik, Director of the National Security Office, were also selected as institutional witnesses, but their attendance remains uncertain.


In particular, it has been reported that Chief Jeong is currently in consultation with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) and others regarding the execution of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol at the presidential residence in Hannam-dong.


Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance; Lee Chang-yong, Governor of the Bank of Korea; Shim Woo-jung, Prosecutor General; Park Se-hyun, Head of the Special Investigation Headquarters for Martial Law at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office; Cho Ji-ho, Commissioner of the National Police Agency; Woo Jong-su, Head of the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency; and Kim Seong-hoon, Deputy Director acting for the Presidential Security Service, have all submitted letters of non-attendance.
