Socar announced on the 15th that it will launch the 'Socar Driving Score' service, which encourages and rewards members for safe driving based on driving data.
The Socar Driving Score is a score converted to a 100-point scale by analyzing the entire driving data during the rental period. It is calculated by grading six factors occurring during driving: ▲speeding ▲excessive speed ▲rapid acceleration ▲rapid deceleration ▲unstable stopping ▲driving frequency. To build a highly discriminative driving score calculation system, Socar trained an artificial intelligence (AI) model with hundreds of thousands of accident and driving big data cases that actually occurred in Socar vehicles.
Members can receive up to 5,000 credits depending on their driving score and achievement of evaluation criteria after driving. If the driving score is 95 or above, 2,000 credits are awarded; if it is 80 or above but below 95, 1,000 credits are given. Additionally, members can receive 500 credits each for four evaluation criteria, up to a maximum of 2,000 credits. Also, 1,000 credits are awarded when a member reaches or re-achieves the cumulative driving distance of 100 km, which is a condition for the driving score evaluation.
The driving score is updated within 4 hours after returning the vehicle. Members can check their driving score on the driving score page within the Socar app, where they can view driving scores and detailed histories for up to 10 trips over the past 12 months. The evaluation grades based on the driving score are divided into six levels: ▲Excellent (top 10%) ▲Very Good (11%?35%) ▲Compliant (36%?60%) ▲Insufficient (61%?75%) ▲Caution (76%?90%) ▲Danger (above 90%).
Jung Sung-min, Head of Socar Data Insight Group, said, "We expect that the driving score will help members realize the importance of safe driving and lead to a tangible reduction in accidents."
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of the driving score service, Socar is holding the 'MBTI Driving Score Competition' event. Members will participate in the event divided into 16 teams according to their MBTI types. The average driving scores of each team for trips made until the 16th of next month will be aggregated. The team with the highest average driving score and the team with the highest participation rate will each receive 25 million credits, which will be distributed among the team members according to the number of participants.
