"If you have lived long without insight or wisdom, you are just an old person"
"Adults are precious and rare"
Singer Na Hoon-a has come under scrutiny for his blunt remarks targeting the impeachment political situation, while junior artist Lee Seung-hwan posted a message that seemed to indirectly criticize him.
On the 13th, Lee Seung-hwan shared an image from the MBC Gyeongnam documentary 'Adult Kim Jang-ha' on his social media account. Along with it, he said, "'Old person' and 'adult' must be distinguished. If someone has only lived long without gaining insight or wisdom despite the many years, due to shallow and trivial knowledge and poor philosophy, that person is an 'old person.'" He added, "'Adults' are precious and rare. Here is a story of a true adult worth emulating," and encouraged, "I hope everyone watches 'Adult Kim Jang-ha'." Kim Jang-ha is a traditional medicine merchant from Sacheon, Gyeongnam, who has spent his life practicing sharing through numerous social movements and charitable works.
Lee Seung-hwan's fans left comments on the post such as, "I want to shout, don't just watch far-right YouTube, look for something beneficial like this," "It seems adults are a rare generation. I sincerely agree," and "I hope Na Hoon-a, who calls those criticizing him 'ill-mannered,' sees and learns from this."
Earlier, on the 11th, Na Hoon-a said at the '2024 Thank You - Last Concert (LAST CONCERT)' held at KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, "The left is making a fuss saying the right is wrong. Were you well-behaved?" He continued, "My mother said brothers should never fight for any reason. I want to ask if your behavior is really for the country," and criticized the current impeachment political situation by saying, "Kim Jong-un in the North must be so happy."
After facing backlash for these remarks, he explained the next day during the performance, "'Yes, (the right) didn't do well either. But were you well-behaved?' That was the point. Yet people are nitpicking over this again." He added, "Since today is the last performance, I have to speak frankly. Whether you are a member of the National Assembly or a governor, listen carefully," and scolded, "Those who criticize me, mind your own business. How can you be acting like fools when an elder is speaking?"
He also emphasized, "During elections, one side is red and the other is blue, and they act crazy. On such a small land," and said, "If you give me just one year, I will make a law so that people from Gyeongsang Province run for the National Assembly in Jeolla Province, and people from Jeolla run in Gyeongsang. East-West harmony must be achieved. We must never leave such a divided country to future generations. We must not divide."
