Geumcheon-gu Issues 9 Billion Won of Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Certificates for Lunar New Year... 10% Discount (5% Discount + 5% Refund)

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that starting from 12 PM on January 16, it will issue 9 billion KRW worth of 'Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Certificates' with a 10% discount rate (5+5).

The district will issue 9 billion KRW, more than double the 4 billion KRW issued during last year's Lunar New Year holiday, to strengthen support for the local economy in the first half of this year.

The Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates can be purchased at a 5% discount off the face value, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person. Additionally, through a refund event, users can receive 5% of the amount spent on the Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates back, making the actual discount rate 10%.

The 5% refund will be paid in the form of the same gift certificates at the end of the month following the use of the Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates. However, the refund event applies only to certificates purchased after April 2024 and will continue until the budget is exhausted.

The Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates purchased via the Seoul Pay Plus (SeoulPay+) app can be used at approximately 7,000 affiliated stores within Geumcheon-gu, including cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, and hair salons.

If the gift certificates are not used after purchase, a full refund is available. In cases where the certificates are partially used, for account transfer payments, at least 60% of the balance must be used to qualify for a refund. Credit card payments cannot be refunded or gifted.

To carry out the refund event, the issuance scale of Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates in 2025 will be adjusted to 16 billion KRW. Considering the issuance amount, instead of monthly regular issuance, 3 billion KRW and 4 billion KRW will be issued in May, the month of family, and September, which includes the Chuseok holiday, respectively.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “By increasing the discount rate of the Geumcheon G-Valley Gift Certificates, residents will benefit more, and small business owners will see immediate effects on their sales.” He added, “We hope the refund event will help residents during the high inflation period and support small business owners.”
