On the 15th, Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, urged the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) and the police to stop executing the arrest warrant against President Yoon Seok-yeol.

As he entered the National Assembly main building for a closed-door floor operation strategy meeting that morning, Kwon told reporters, "As seen on the screen, a physical clash is occurring between the PCC, police, and the security office in front of the Hannam-dong presidential residence."

He added, "Executing an arrest warrant against a sitting president is causing great anxiety and concern among the public."

Kwon further stated, "Showing such confrontation is unbecoming of the dignity of the Republic of Korea and disrespectful to the current president," and argued, "Despite the president suggesting that a pre-arrest warrant be requested instead, the insistence on executing the arrest warrant is something the public cannot understand at all." He reiterated the position that the PCC has no investigative authority over charges of insurrection, rendering the warrant execution invalid. Kwon emphasized, "The PCC's insistence on executing the warrant raises questions about whether it is truly an institution for the people or one that seeks to uphold its own pride," and urged, "They must stop immediately and prevent further harm."

Earlier, the PCC and police began the procedure to execute the arrest warrant against President Yoon around 5 a.m. in front of the Hannam-dong presidential residence.

About 20 People Power Party lawmakers, including Yoon Sang-hyun and Kim Gi-hyeon, along with party officials, gathered in front of the Hannam-dong residence to protest the execution of the arrest warrant against President Yoon. In particular, they formed a human chain in front of the residence's main gate to block the warrant execution. During this process, physical clashes such as scuffles also occurred.

The police stated that obstructing the execution of the arrest warrant is illegal and have been forcibly dispersing the People Power Party lawmakers one by one in front of the residence.
