Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Economy and Finance, stated on the 15th regarding the execution of the second arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, "Physical clashes between state agencies will cause irreparable damage to public trust and the international community's evaluation," adding, "If an unfortunate incident occurs, accountability will be demanded."
Acting President Choi issued a message early that morning, saying, "The execution of the president's arrest warrant has begun. This moment is very important for maintaining the order and rule of law in the Republic of Korea. The eyes of the entire nation and the gaze of the international community are watching this situation," and gave these instructions.
He emphasized, "Both the National Police Agency and the Security Office exist to uphold the law and order of the Republic of Korea and ensure the safety of the people," adding, "Physical clashes between state agencies cannot be allowed under any circumstances as they will cause irreparable damage to public trust and the international community's evaluation."
Furthermore, he said, "I hope all related agencies will act with careful judgment and responsible behavior during law enforcement," and "As I have repeatedly emphasized the prevention of physical clashes, if there is a serious violation leading to an unfortunate incident, I will strictly hold those responsible accountable as Acting President."
