Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station has strengthened fire prevention activities at traditional markets ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 13th, Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station announced that it had visited Daein Market to prevent large-scale fires and establish a culture of safety by eliminating fire hazards and inspecting on-site conditions.
This inspection was carried out as part of efforts to ensure the safety of citizens visiting traditional markets before the holiday. The team thoroughly checked the condition of electrical wiring, the installation of detectors and fire extinguishers, and the accessibility of emergency routes within the market.
This activity is a preventive measure to protect citizens' safety during the Lunar New Year holiday. It is expected to play an important role in spreading a culture of safety throughout the local community.
The Dongbu Fire Station plans to strengthen special patrols during the holiday period to ensure a safe holiday for both citizens and merchants.
Song Ilsu, head of the Fire Prevention and Safety Division, said, "Traditional markets have a high risk of fire due to the concentration of various electrical and gas appliances as well as flammable materials. With the sharp increase in foot traffic during the holiday season, the special attention and active cooperation of merchants are especially important."
