Comprehensive Measures Implemented for a Safe and Comfortable Lunar New Year Holiday

Cheongdo County is focusing its administrative efforts on ensuring a happy and enjoyable Lunar New Year celebration for its residents and visitors returning home by preparing a detailed checklist in anticipation of the nation’s major holiday, Seollal.

On the 13th, Cheongdo County announced that with the designation of the 27th as a temporary holiday, it has established and is implementing a comprehensive plan for the six-day Lunar New Year holiday from the 25th to the 30th, aiming for all residents to have a comfortable and safe holiday.

During the holiday, a comprehensive situation room composed of nine teams?including the Disaster and Accident Response Team, Transportation Measures Team, and Emergency Medical Team?will be operated to prevent various safety accidents, manage transportation for returning visitors, stabilize prices, and other areas closely related to residents’ lives, establishing a proactive response system against disasters, incidents, and accidents.

Key measures by sector include intensive inspections of multi-use facilities such as traditional markets, parking lots, and nursing facilities before the holiday to prevent various accidents, and full efforts to prepare for disaster safety accidents caused by cold waves.

In particular, to ensure smooth vehicle traffic during the holiday, special inspections of public transportation-related companies will be conducted, including special training for workers, vehicle maintenance and safety checks before and after operation, and guidance on transportation order such as preventing cancellations and refusal of boarding.

For emergency medical measures, the public health center will provide non-stop medical services for four days from the 27th to the 30th, and designated hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies will be operated.

Additionally, a price control situation room will be operated continuously until the 30th, with 16 key Lunar New Year seasonal items designated for focused management to monitor and control price trends.

Furthermore, traditional market shopping events, a 10% special discount sale on local love gift certificates, and promotion and purchase of Onnuri gift certificates will be carried out to revitalize the local commercial district.

Moreover, in response to the cold wave advisory and other winter conditions, welfare assistant activities involving all Cheongdo County public officials will be conducted for about 650 vulnerable households, while consolation goods will be provided to social welfare facilities and national veterans to create a warm and heartfelt holiday atmosphere.

Kim Dong-gi, Deputy Governor of Cheongdo, stated, “With the extended Lunar New Year holiday due to the temporary holiday designation, we will establish a flawless emergency response system to prevent various anticipated safety accidents and ensure that visitors returning home and our residents can spend a comfortable and warm holiday.”
