Cheonan City Transforms Abandoned Houses in Old Downtown into Senior Centers

Demolition of Existing Building and Construction of a 30-Pyeong Senior Community Center with a 500 Million Won Investment

Cheonan City in Chungnam announced on the 13th that it has established a senior community center in a vacant house located in the old downtown area.

This vacant house at 22-6 Seonghwang-dong had previously been designated as a redevelopment maintenance zone, but after the designation was lifted, it was left abandoned and became an eyesore.

The city invested a total project cost of 500 million won to demolish the existing building and construct a senior community center of approximately 30 pyeong in size.

Going forward, the city plans to actively purchase abandoned vacant houses and utilize them to establish shared kitchens, shelters for abused children, and other community facilities.
