Muan County, Jeju Air Passenger Plane Accident... Continued Support and Consolation

Warmth Continues with Meal and Medical Support Even After the Funerals

Although all the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident have safely returned to their families, the spirit of volunteerism continues as volunteers head to Muan County in South Jeolla Province.

According to Muan County on the 13th, the World Mission Society Church of God is providing 300 meal servings at Muan International Airport and plans to continue its activities until the 31st.

In particular, a woman in her 50s, who wished to remain anonymous, brought three boxes of fish cake soup from Gwangju with her son who was on vacation, and distributed them from early morning, adding warmth to the scene.

Pastors and church members from churches under the Muan Christian Council have provided daily necessities and snacks from morning until midnight for a week, offering comfort and support to the bereaved families.

Additionally, volunteer applications continue to be submitted at the Muan County Volunteer Center, with volunteers assisting in accident recovery, environmental cleanup, and traffic control. The Korean Pharmaceutical Association's volunteer pharmacy and the Association of Korean Medicine's oriental medicine clinic are operating on-site to care for the health of bereaved families and recovery workers.

Muan County is refurbishing the disaster relief shelter where the bereaved families stayed, disinfecting and cleaning airport facilities such as the waiting room, and making every effort to ensure that returning families experience no inconvenience after the funerals.

Kim San, the county governor, said, "I am grateful that the dedicated efforts of the volunteers have helped ease the pain of the bereaved families," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure there are no gaps in support for the families until the very end."
