Booth Operated and Exhibited Together with Busan University of Foreign Studies
A food product representing Busan has embarked on a global market challenge.
Samjin Eomuk (CEO Park Yong-jun), a leading fish cake brand in South Korea, announced on the 13th that it officially participated in ‘CES 2025,’ the world’s largest information technology and electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th, signaling the global expansion of fish cakes.
Samjin Eomuk operated its booth under the theme ‘Blue Meat’ and showcased the potential universalization of future seafood protein through its ‘Blue Meat Powder.’
Blue Meat Powder is a ‘freeze-dried surimi powder’ independently developed by Samjin Eomuk, anticipating an increase in demand for seafood protein in the future. It is an invention that researches and develops a new form of product using seafood protein, which is the basis of fish cakes, creating a powder product that retains the nutrition of fish protein.
This product is in powder form and can be used with the same cooking methods as flour. By adding water to the powder, fish paste dough can be made to create various dishes such as fish cake hot bars and fish cake pancakes.
At CES 2025, Samjin Eomuk demonstrated and offered tastings of this product in the forms of ‘pizza’ and ‘hot bars,’ receiving positive responses locally.
This exhibition was participated in by Samjin Eomuk as a representative local company under the Busan University of Foreign Studies’ University Innovation Support Project, operating the booth and exhibition together with Busan University of Foreign Studies.
Park Yong-jun, CEO of Samjin Eomuk, said, “Through this exhibition participation, we once again saw the infinite potential of fish cakes,” adding, “We will continue to research seafood protein, which is the basis of fish cakes, and strive to develop products to make them globally popular foods.”
Samjin Eomuk was selected as the number one brand in the seafood processed food category for four consecutive years in the 26th Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI). Additionally, it was recognized for its tradition and history by receiving the ‘Minister of SMEs and Startups Award’ at the ‘2024 Korea 100-Year Enterprises’ hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
