Simultaneous Events at Yangjae Hanaro Mart in Seoul
and Sangnim Park in Hamyang
In Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, the Hamyang Agricultural Specialties Lunar New Year Special Sale event was held simultaneously at the Yangjae Hanaro Mart event hall, and the Hamyang Gojongsi Dried Persimmon Festival was launched at Hamyang Sangnim Park.
This special sale event in Seoul was held to promote Hamyang's agricultural specialties and dried persimmons at affordable prices for customers in the metropolitan area who cannot travel to Hamyang, while the dried persimmon festival was taking place in Hamyang.
First, the opening ceremony was held at Yangjae Hanaro Mart with 17 companies selling dried persimmons and agricultural specialties, attended by County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong, National Assemblyman Shin Seong-beom, Branch Manager Noh Chun-seok, local agricultural cooperative heads, Lee Dong-geun, CEO of Nonghyup Distribution, Choi Jeong-yoon, president of the Seoul Hamyang Alumni Association, and about 50 others. Over three days, various events and tasting sessions will be held, offering souvenirs and gift certificates, providing a variety of attractions and entertainment.
The Hamyang Gojongsi Dried Persimmon Festival grandly opened on the 10th in Hamyang, with the opening ceremony held at 2 p.m. on the 11th at Sangnim Park. About 100 booths sell dried persimmons and Hamyang agricultural specialties, and activities such as dried persimmon auctions, chestnut roasting, traditional dried persimmon making demonstrations, food markets, and other winter experience programs will be available. Performances by invited singers, including singer Lee Chan-won, are also scheduled.
County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong said, “The special sale event and dried persimmon festival held simultaneously in Seoul and Hamyang aim to showcase Hamyang dried persimmons and agricultural specialties to customers in the metropolitan and central-southern regions, promoting their excellence and increasing the income of local farmers. We hope this will help revitalize the currently stagnant atmosphere even a little.”
