Emart, in which Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, has acquired shares, is on the rise.
As of 10:35 a.m. on the 13th, Emart is trading at 66,300 KRW, up 2.31% from the previous close.
On the 10th, Emart announced a transaction plan report stating that Chairman Chung decided to purchase all 2,787,582 common shares (10.0%) of Emart held by his mother, Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee.
The purchase price was set at 76,800 KRW per share, applying a 20% premium for a related-party transaction to the closing price on the 9th (64,000 KRW), totaling approximately 214.1 billion KRW.
Yoo Jung-hyun, a researcher at Daishin Securities, commented, "While there is no substantial impact on the stock price, it confirms Chairman Chung Yong-jin's commitment to responsible management." He added, "It is positive for short-term investor sentiment, but for a sustained stock price increase, it is necessary to verify the recovery of core business competitiveness and the performance improvement trends of subsidiaries."
