Haenam County, Idea Contest for Overcoming Population Crisis

Open to All Citizens... All Areas of Population Policy

Haenam County in Jeonnam Province (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) announced on the 13th that it will hold an idea contest to overcome the deepening crisis of population decline and regional extinction.

This idea contest accepts proposals for all areas of Haenam County's population policies, including responses to low birth rates and aging, expanding population inflow, and preventing the outflow of resident population. Anyone interested in Haenam County’s population policies can participate, and the contest runs from the 13th to the 21st of next month. Submissions can be made via email, mail (Future Community Division, Population Policy Team), or in person.


A total of seven winners will be selected, with one grand prize winner receiving 2 million KRW, one gold prize, two silver prizes, and three bronze prizes, amounting to a total of 5.9 million KRW in awards. Detailed information is posted on the Haenam County website and Sotongnet.


A county official said, "We hope that this nationwide contest will raise social awareness and interest in population issues, and that many creative and practical ideas to solve these problems will be discovered."
