Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Sang-gi) announced on the 13th that it is recruiting students for Sejong School, which recognizes elementary and middle school academic credits.
Sejong School is an educational program established by Inje-gun after being designated as an elementary school accredited institution by the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education in 2018 to provide adult literacy education. It is an educational institution that operates a shortened curriculum of 6 years of elementary school and 3 years of middle school, and students who attend more than two-thirds of the education period at each stage can receive recognition of elementary and middle school academic credits without a separate exam.
This year’s courses include two classes for the elementary course (stage 2) and one class for the middle school course (stage 1). The target applicants are residents of Inje-gun aged 18 or older who wish to obtain elementary or middle school academic credits, and 15 students per class will be recruited from the 13th to February 14th.
Elementary education is divided into Inje-eup and Girin areas, providing education at the level of 3rd and 4th grades of elementary school. Applicants must pass an entry evaluation and complete 240 hours of education before advancing to stage 3. For the middle school course, students can advance to stage 2 after completing more than 450 hours of the stage 1 course.
Education will be conducted three times a week for at least 2 hours per session from March to February 2026, and tuition is free.
Detailed information can be found on the websites of Inje-gun Office and Inje-gun Lifelong Learning Center, and applications can be submitted in person or by phone (Inje-gun Office, Culture and Education Division, Lifelong Education Team).
An official from Inje-gun stated, “We will strive to provide various customized lifelong education programs to help learners of all ages realize their passion for learning and dreams.”
