"Liberal democracy, the goal of South Korea"
"Let’s root out the wicked forces and nurture the new buds of spring"
"Approval rating at 45.2%... Will reach 50% next week"
Singer JK Kim Dong-wook, who publicly supported President Yoon Suk-yeol, made a provocative statement by referring to poll results, saying, "We will tear you apart."
On the 11th, JK Kim Dong-wook posted the music video of his song "Giant" (GIANT) on his social media account. Along with it, he said, "I wondered when I would bring this song out again, but I’m so glad I can play it at a time like this," adding, "I was always alone, lonely, desolate, and lethargic, but as we become one, a giant awakens in our hearts, and we are holding hands with heated palms, running toward the same goal." He continued, "Just as life has goals, South Korea has a goal. It is to awaken and protect liberal democracy," emphasizing, "You will no longer be lonely. You will not be afraid. Let’s properly root out the wicked forces in this land and sprout the new buds of spring."

On the same day, in his story (a post visible for 24 hours), he wrote, "45.2%. Next week it hits 50. And we will tear you apart," adding, "I sincerely thank all of you who are diligently leading the protection of the country even in this cold weather. You are South Korea." The figure "45.2%" he mentioned refers to President Yoon’s approval rating announced in the previous day’s Every News poll. This poll was conducted nationwide targeting 1,000 men and women aged 18 and over using a 100% wireless ARS telephone survey method with RDD. The response rate was 3.5%, and the sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
Earlier, on the 3rd, JK Kim Dong-wook posted a photo of the Taegeukgi flag with the phrase "Protecting the president is the way to protect the country. Public Corruption Investigation Office who?" This was interpreted as his opinion on the Public Corruption Investigation Office’s attempt to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon on the same day. Later, on the 9th, when the results of a poll commissioned by Dailyan were announced, he expressed his opinion, saying, "42.4%. No matter how much I don’t care about numbers, data cannot be ignored," and "South Korea is definitely full of patriots exceeding 50%." This poll was conducted nationwide targeting male and female voters using a structured questionnaire and a 100% wireless RDD ARS method, with an overall response rate of 4.1%, and a total of 1,003 respondents. The sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
Meanwhile, on the 7th, he announced that the Daegu concert scheduled for the 25th had been canceled, saying, "I bring unfortunate news from the New Year." He lamented, "The concert organizers cited safety reasons due to external complaints opposing my appearance," adding, "It was canceled due to absurd agitation by outsiders who filed complaints with the intention of threats, such as saying they would protest if the concert proceeded, not complaints from the attendees."
