Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced on the 13th that, following the completion of the nursing room environment improvement project at Uncheon Station in Seo-gu, Gwangju, which began in December last year, they will begin full operation after conducting an on-site inspection.
This improvement project was carried out based on a proposal by Council Member Kim Yongim of the Gwangju City Council. On this day, Council Member Kim and corporation officials gathered to closely check the status of improvements for user convenience in the nursing room and the enhancement of external visibility.
First, the corporation started a complete renovation of the facility's signage, installing LED guide lights at two locations outside the nursing room to improve visibility. Additionally, they replaced fixtures and equipment such as sinks, diaper changing tables, and sofas to enhance the user environment, and paid careful attention to user comfort by installing new wallpaper and lighting to create a cozy atmosphere.
The exterior of the facility was constructed with warm and sophisticated wooden materials that harmonize with the indoor garden of Uncheon Station, creating a luxurious and clean ambiance. The nursing and rest areas were separated, and the facility name was changed to "Family Nursing Room" to allow the entire family to use the space, thereby improving accessibility for users.
The corporation plans to continue conducting regular facility inspections and will actively work to enhance citizen convenience through environmental maintenance such as cleaning and timely replacement of consumables.
President Cho Ikmun stated, "We hope that this nursing room improvement project will serve as a foundation for making Gwangju a city where it is good to give birth and raise children," and added, "We will continue to strive to become a model public enterprise in the local community that fulfills its social responsibilities."
