AI Demand Expanding Across All Sectors
Increasing Application Cases by Integrating Generative AI
AI software development company Konan Technologies announced on the 13th that it plans to focus on increasing sales and strengthening profitability by reorganizing its business strategy centered on generative AI and defense AI.
CEO Kim Young-seom stated, "We will create synergy by operating our business combining generative AI with core products, while proactively supplying AI solutions to strengthen national defense capabilities."
Konan Technologies expects this year to be the inaugural year for deploying AI agents within the company. While generative AI PoCs and small-scale projects dominated until last year due to increasing AI transition demand, it forecasts an increase in main projects and large-scale projects this year. The company will actively pursue expansion of business scale and market share. For existing core products such as search engines, chatbots, and analytics, it will increase concrete application cases by integrating generative technologies. It is leading AI transition in industrial sites by supplying the 'Konan Large Language Model (LLM)' to various sectors including public institutions like Korea Southern Power and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as healthcare, finance, insurance, and manufacturing.
Konan Technologies is also preparing to launch new appliance products equipped with generative AI solutions. As part of differentiation from construction projects and improving profitability, it is currently collaborating with leading hardware companies centered on 'Konan On-Device AI.'
Through organizational restructuring of its business divisions, it newly operates the 'Defense AI Division.' The VU (Video Understanding) Division, which has been servicing AI solutions 'Konan Watcher' based on patented image search technology and video object identification technology in the computer vision field, has been renamed. This restructuring aims to respond more agilely to the increasing AI demand in the defense sector and is led by Division Head Kim Kyu-hoon.
Among the national strategic technology roadmap aimed at fostering a strong military, it plans to focus on supplying solutions for three strategic technologies: ▲Intelligent Battlefield Awareness and Command Decision ▲Defense AI Platform ▲Smart Power Support.
Konan Technologies has conducted AI projects with military-related organizations such as the Army Training Command, Army Aviation Command, Air Force Power Support System Project Group, Marine Corps Command, and the Ministry of National Defense. It has proven its technological capabilities by being selected as a performer for AI pilot development using digital twins and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) onboard demonstration projects.
