Dobong-gu Secures 26.8 Billion KRW in Special Grants and Adjustment Grants... 3.7 Billion KRW Increase from Previous Year

Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) secured a total of 26.8 billion KRW in special grants and special adjustment grants last year. This amount is approximately 3.7 billion KRW more than in 2023, the year before last.

This is the result of the district actively negotiating with the government, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and others to secure finances.

Special grants and special adjustment grants are external funds provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to promote residents' safety and convenience, and improve living environments, which are difficult to implement with district funds alone.

The secured funds will be used for a total of 53 projects to strengthen residents' safety, including disaster and accident prevention infrastructure construction, expansion of living safety nets, and enhancement of resident convenience, as well as various pending projects.

Major projects include winter pothole (road depression) repairs and expansion of automatic snow removal devices (2.97 billion KRW), installation of a deck road walking trail around the Arena area (1.653 billion KRW), Banghakcheon environmental improvement maintenance project (1.5 billion KRW), old playground facility environment improvement project (1.5 billion KRW), and promotion of leisure and cultural activities for the elderly (1.25 billion KRW).

Among these, the winter pothole repair and expansion of automatic snow removal devices and the promotion of leisure and cultural activities for the elderly are joint projects between the city and the district. When the Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted a demand survey earlier, the district showed active interest and secured the project funds.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Securing these special grants and special adjustment grants will contribute to maintaining the overall urban infrastructure and significantly improving residents' living convenience. We will continue to closely cooperate with the government and Seoul Metropolitan Government to secure necessary funds and ensure they are used for projects that residents need.”
