Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) will issue Mapo Love Gift Certificates worth 14.5 billion KRW starting from 2 PM on January 15th in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year.
The issuance of Mapo Love Gift Certificates is intended to alleviate consumers' concerns amid consecutive price increases and rising costs of setting up ancestral rites tables, and to revitalize local businesses through consumption promotion.
The Mapo Love Gift Certificates being issued this time can be purchased at a 5% discount, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per individual and a maximum holding limit of 1,500,000 KRW.
The gift certificates can be purchased with cash or credit card via the Seoul Pay Plus app. However, gift certificates purchased with a credit card cannot be gifted, so buyers should be cautious. The validity period of the gift certificates is five years from the date of purchase.
Mapo Love Gift Certificates can be used at Seoul Pay affiliated stores within Mapo-gu. Detailed information on affiliated stores can be found in the "Find Stores" menu within the Seoul Pay Plus app.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "I hope that the Mapo Love Gift Certificates, issued for the first time in the new year to celebrate the great national holiday of Lunar New Year, will help reduce household burdens and contribute to increasing sales for small business owners."
