Holds 239 Species of Plant Genetic Resources
Across 238,648 Square Meters
Chungnam Province announced on the 12th that it has registered a 230,000-square-meter site within Sinjeongho Lake in Asan City, developed with a total project cost of 25.5 billion KRW, as the "No.1 Local Garden of Chungnam."
The Sinjeongho Local Garden contains 239 species (92,842 specimens) of plant genetic resources across an area of 238,648 square meters.
The garden is centered around the "Garden of Water," themed on water, and is composed of the Welcome Garden, Four Seasons and Color Garden, Terrace Garden, Gentle Breeze Hill Garden, and Dry Garden.
Asan City plans to further enhance the local garden and visitor convenience by installing an ecological observation bridge that spans Sinjeongho Lake, measuring 275 meters in length and 4 meters in width.
Additionally, facilities to protect bird habitats within the willow grove and a habitat for the tail swallowtail butterfly will also be established.
Kim Youngmyung, Director of the Environment and Forest Bureau of the province, stated, "We will do our best to manage and operate the Sinjeongho Local Garden, the No.1 Local Garden of Chungnam, so that residents and visitors can enjoy healing experiences."
