Songpa-gu Publishes '2025 New Year Changes in Policies'
Useful Policies for Residents Gathered in One Place: Culture, Childbirth, Care, Daily Life, and More
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it has created the '2025 New Year Changes in Policies' to help its 660,000 residents easily understand the new policies and systems being implemented this year.
The '2025 New Year Changes in Policies' organizes the newly established and revised policies and systems from the central government, Seoul city, and Songpa-gu starting in the new year into five categories: Education & Culture, Health & Welfare, Safety & Environment, Administration & Daily Life, and Finance & Taxation, making them easy to understand.
As key projects for Songpa-gu's change and development made significant progress last year, the district plans to continue its 'servant administration' that treats residents as the owners, focusing on creating 'Songpa, a premium city that is good to live in.'
First, in 2025, Songpa-gu's Seokchon Lake will undergo new changes. In the West Lake, 'The Sphere,' a light sculpture and the first work of Songpa Media Forest, will be installed.
The underside of Jamsil Lake Bridge piers will be transformed into the 'Lake Bridge Gallery,' where visitors can enjoy media art.
Also, the 30-year-old Songpa Residents' Hall will be remodeled and reborn as the high-quality Songpa Culture and Arts Center, equipped with a state-of-the-art stage and a 490-seat auditorium.
In the health and welfare sector, major changes include ▲expanding the government-supported income criteria for childcare services from 150% to 200% of the median income ▲raising the child meal support unit price to 9,500 KRW ▲increasing the annual usage limit for the Care SOS project services by 200,000 KRW, supporting up to a maximum of 1.8 million KRW.
Additionally, ▲a new 'Pre-pregnancy Health Management Support Project' will be introduced, providing up to 130,000 KRW for women and 50,000 KRW for men to cover examination costs related to pregnancy preparation ▲free scaling services will be provided for vulnerable seniors aged 65 and over, ensuring residents' health is thoroughly cared for.
Furthermore, for residents' safety and convenience, ▲support will be provided for installing automatic opening and closing devices on rooftop access doors in apartment complexes ▲the 'Seoul-type Household Service Support Project' will expand its income criteria to 180% or below ▲and Songpa-gu's living wage will be raised to 11,779 KRW in 2025.
In this way, the district plans to continuously strive to improve systems that cause inconvenience to residents' lives and to practice servant administration that treats residents as owners.
The '2025 New Year Changes in Policies' can be viewed in e-book format on the Songpa-gu Office website in January under Our Songpa / Electronic Publications / Administrative Materials / Changes in Policies.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “We have organized the new policies and systems for the new year by category in an easy-to-understand way, so I hope residents can immediately learn about them and enjoy the benefits. We will continue servant administration that treats residents as owners and do our best to improve residents' quality of life through appropriate administrative support where it is most needed.”
