Successful Conclusion of the April 2 Guro District Mayor By-election Preliminary Joint Debate at Songhae Art Hall on the 10th
Seeking Answers Within Policy Visions and Development Strategies for Guro-gu
The Seoul Metropolitan Party of the Democratic Party of Korea (Chairman Jang Kyung-tae) successfully held a joint preliminary debate for the Guro District Mayor by-election at the Songhae Art Hall in Guro-gu on the 10th.
This debate was an occasion to present a new vision for Guro-gu and marked the first step in a democratic process that realizes party member sovereignty through fair and transparent procedures centered on the participation of party members.
The event began with a greeting from Kang Deuk-gu, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Democratic Party of Korea, followed by congratulatory remarks from Jang Kyung-tae, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Party, and National Assembly members Lee In-young and Yoon Gun-young. In the subsequent debate, six primary candidates presented their policy visions and development plans for Guro-gu, engaging in heated discussions.
The debate focused on themes such as development plans for Guro-gu, strengthening financial independence, and securing regional competitiveness. The candidates compared policies and shared practical visions through common questions and moderated discussions, demonstrating their capabilities.
The venue was filled with enthusiasm. Party members of Guro-gu actively participated and attentively listened to the candidates' visions, and citizens who joined via online live streaming also showed a passionate response.
This debate played an important role in selecting the right candidate to lead Guro-gu through a policy-centered verification process.
The Democratic Party of Korea plans to continue designing the future of Guro-gu based on fairness and transparency.
