Lee Wan-seop, Mayor of Seosan City, Chungnam, announced on the 10th that the eco-friendly experiential tourism-type resource recovery facility is being constructed without delay, aiming for completion in October this year.
During a 'Dialogue with Citizens' held at the Eoullim Health Center in Inji-myeon that morning, attended by about 200 residents, Mayor Lee emphasized that the resource recovery facility would become a 'key facility benefiting the local community.'
At the event, residents showed great interest in the 'eco-friendly experiential tourism-type resource recovery facility' to be built in the area of lots 827 and 828, Yangdae-dong.
The eco-friendly experiential tourism-type resource recovery facility will process about 200 tons of household waste per day and will be equipped with various amenities such as an adventure slide, indoor children's climbing wall, jjimjilbang, and an observatory.

The city plans to significantly reduce related expenses by processing household waste on its own through the facility, supply waste heat to resident amenities, and sell the remaining waste heat as electricity to Korea Electric Power Corporation.
The current construction progress rate has reached 85%, and the project is proceeding smoothly, targeting completion in October this year.
On this day, Inji-myeon residents also made requests to Mayor Lee regarding pressing issues such as repair and expansion of drainage channels, increased control of sudden pest outbreaks, and road expansion near Chadong Elementary School.
Additionally, there was a Q&A session on various major pending projects, including the Chorok Square and Yecheon District public parking lots, the (tentatively named) Culture and Arts Town and other cultural enjoyment infrastructures, as well as welfare and jobs for senior citizens.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop stated, "The resource recovery facility will break away from the existing stereotype as an undesirable facility and will be established as a highly anticipated and beneficial facility for the region," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure the successful construction of the resource recovery facility, which will greatly improve residents' convenience."
